BrickSlopes is one of 11 shows in the world that The LEGO® Group considers an AFOL Networking Event. You can find out more about these events on lan.lego.com
Models seen at the show are generally created by AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®). The ideas and creations are those of the AFOL who built them. A few models are owned by the show, and make recurring appearances, but even these were created by hobbyists.
Display space at the show is reserved for VIB (Very Important Builder) pass holders.Â
A VIB Pass is for our 4 day private convention for AFOLs and TFOLs. This runs in the background of the public expo where fans compete in games, building challenges, presentations and other AFOL networking events.Â
There is an option for the Kids Block upgrade where a child can bring their build to the BrickSlopes Booth and have it displayed while they are at the event.Â
The majority of the models shown at the show are owned by their creators, as such whether or not they are for sale, and what they cost, is completely at the discretion of the respective model builders. In general, most models are not for sale, and those that are significantly more expensive than the sets produced by The LEGO® Group.
Please do! Don’t forget to credit the builder whenever possible, Creation Title & Builder Name is on a MOC card in front of each build. Please use #BrickSlopes on your social media posts and tag @BrickSlopes on your posts.
VIB passes are intended for adults and teenagers who make and create their own models using LEGO® Bricks and are interested in participating in a 4 day private convention type experience with other LEGO® fans. As such VIB Passholders have access to exclusive games and activities not open to the general public.
Companion passes are intended for those who want to accompany an VIB pass holder during the 4 day convention, including all public exhibition sessions, but don’t want to participate in the games. Companion members will not receive a LEGO® brick badge, convention T-shirt, swag bag.
Public tickets are intended for the general public, and includes access to play activities that generally appeal to a broader audience, who enjoy LEGO® sets and building with LEGO® Bricks but don’t consider it their main Hobby.Â
Activities include: The Brick Pit Build Area, Graffiti Wall, Race Tracks, Minifig Trading, Moc Displays, Public Panels and Discussion of The LEGO® Group, influencers and Lego Masters.
In play areas please build and create in the Brick Pit, Race Tracks and Graffiti Wall. Â
The fan designed models and displays please be respectful and do not touch the displays.
Most of our vendors will be selling LEGO® related items. Each vendor sets their own pricing for LEGO® items. An unique option to get minifigures, sets, loose items from all LEGO fandom.
LEGO Sumo (or Sumo Bot) is a contest originated by Steve Hassenpug. In it, contestants create autonomous robots which attempt to push each other out of a raised circular ring, with a black stripe around the edge, while simultaneously attempting to remain within the ring themselves.
At BrickSlopes, VIB attendees will have the option to bring bots built and programmed at home to the event, or build one at the show using kits borrowed from BrickSlopes. These contests will be open to the public to watch, however participation is limited to VIB pass holders.
There is nowhere near enough time to properly test at the show, but it’s still a good time. So if you’re keen on winning, we recommend building one at home.
Teams that may wish to compete, must have at least one member of the team registered as a VIB Pass holder (not limited), and only those registered team members will be allowed to manipulate the bot during competition. Regardless of the team size, prizes remain the same. Any prizes won must be shared. We truly recommend each person have their own pass, and bot to compete with.
